Sis. Annie Moore
Sis. Annie Moore, age 86, of Clarksville passed away Sunday,
September 1, 2013 at Clarksville Nursing and Rehab after an
extended illness. Celebration of Life 11:00 a.m. Saturday,
September 7, 2013 at St. John Missionary Baptist Church.
Burial Resthaven Memorial Garden. Visitation 12:00 noon-4:00
p.m. Friday, September 6, 2013 at Foston Funeral
Home.Visitation with the family 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. with the
family at St.John Missionary Baptist Church with Masonic
Rites at 6:00 p.m. She was born July 19, 1927 in Montgomery
County to the late Sanders and Bessie Roberts Taylor. She
served as Honorary Past Matron of St Mary's Chapter #5.
She was a graduated of Burt High School Class of 1947. She
was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church.She is
preceded in death by her husband Ephraim Moore and son
Alonzo L. Smith Jr. She leaves to cherish her loving memory
daughters, Bessie Smith-Simms, Annie"Squeaky" Smith-McCoin
and Martha J. Smith and three grandchildren and three great
grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Sis. Georgia Elliott
Sis. Georgia Mae Evans Elliott, 69, of Chattanooga, passed
away Sunday, Feb. 16, 2013, at her residence. She was a
native of Scottsboro, Ala., and was a 1961 graduate of G.W.
Carver High School. She was employed by BlueCross/BlueShield
of Tennessee beginning with the Federal Employee Program,
then as a customer service representative and technician for
the Internal Distribution. Eleven of her years were
consecutive with perfect attendance. She received numerous
certificates and awards during her years of employment. In
2004, she retired with 25 years of service. She was a
faithful member of the Mount Canaan Missionary Baptist
Church where she sang in the choir and was formerly the
music director and served in several other capacities and
organizations of the church. She also formerly served as the
music director at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. She
also held numerous positions and titles with Excelsior
O.E.S./P.H.A.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry G. Elliott;
parents, Jasper and Mae Bell Evans; and brother, Herbert
Evans. Survivors include her devoted daughters, Stephanie J.
(special son, Michael) Jordan, of Marietta, Ga., and Carla
P. Elliott, of Chattanooga; granddaughters, Jasmin R. Smith,
of Chattanooga and LaPortia J. Jordan, of Marietta, Ga.;
sisters, Billie Finley, of Huntsville, Ala., Rena Evans, and
Jill Evans, both of Scottsboro, Ala.; a host of loved and
adored nieces, nephews; other family members; special pet,
Roxy Smith and many friends. Funeral service will be at 10
a.m. Saturday in the chapel with Dr. Ternae Jordan Sr. as
the eulogist.Burial: Highland Memorial Gardens. She will
lie-in-state after 12:30 p.m. today at Taylor Funeral Home.
The Last Rites Ceremony will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the
chapel.
